We spent the day in Queens! We had brunch at a diner close by and visited Moma PS1. The Moma PS1 building was originally a public school, which turned into artist studios and finally became part of the Moma. We visited the exhibition “MOOD: Studio Museum Artists in Residence” and had some time to hang out in the wonderful hammocks that they have installed in the courtyards for the summer events. Shortly after we headed to the Noguchi museum where we enjoyed the sculptures, the furniture and the beautiful garden by Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi. We also stopped by the Socrates Sculpture Park where the students took some time to relax and get creative drawing and sketching. Later, we took the ferry to Manhattan and delighted ourselves with the marvelous views and the cool breeze of the East river. Once in Manhattan, we visited the Flatiron area and had dinner at Eataly Market. It was such a great day! As a final activity for the day we surprised our students with an Escape the Room game! They couldn’t be more excited! It was really fun to see them solve the riddles and work as a team. We finished the day visiting Time Square; its grandeur, its lights and its hustle and bustle!
